Steak with Creamy Cajun Shrimp Topping Recipe 👩‍🍳 ✨

**Ingredients:**

* 2 (6-ounce) sirloin steaks

* * 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

* * 1/4 cup butter

* * 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

* * 1 cup milk

* * 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or less, to taste – start small!)

* * 1/4 teaspoon paprika

* * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

* * 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

* * Salt and pepper to taste

* * 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (for garnish)

**Instructions:**

1. **Prepare the steaks:** Season both sides of the steaks generously with salt and pepper.  Heat a tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your liking. Remove from skillet and set aside.

2. 2. **Cook the shrimp:** In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

3. 3. **Make the creamy sauce:** In the same skillet, whisk together the flour and cayenne pepper. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens. Stir in the paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. 4. **Combine and serve:** Return the shrimp to the skillet and stir to coat in the creamy sauce. Pour the sauce over the steaks. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
