Golden-crusted chicken strips coated in toasted sesame seeds and fried to crispy perfection, served with a sticky-sweet honey soy dip that’s got just the right touch of garlic and ginger. It’s takeout-style comfort you can make right at home — fast, flavorful, and finger-lickin’ good!
📋 ingredients:
for the chicken strips:
• 1 lb (450 g) chicken tenders or breasts, sliced into strips
• ½ cup flour
• 2 eggs, beaten
• 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
• 2 tbsp sesame seeds (white or mixed)
• ½ tsp garlic powder
• Salt & black pepper, to taste
• Oil, for frying or baking
for the honey soy dipping sauce:
• ¼ cup soy sauce
• 2 tbsp honey
• 1 tsp rice vinegar or lime juice
• 1 garlic clove, minced
• ½ tsp grated ginger
• ½ tsp sesame oil
• Optional: pinch of chili flakes or sriracha for heat

coat the chicken
Pat chicken dry and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge each strip in flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat in a mix of panko and sesame seeds. Press gently so the crumbs stick.
cook until crispy
• Fry method: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Fry chicken strips 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
• Bake method: Arrange on a greased baking sheet, spray lightly with oil, and bake at 425°F (220°C) for 18–20 minutes, flipping halfway.
make the dipping sauce
In a small saucepan, whisk together soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Warm over low heat for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.
serve it up
Pile chicken strips on a platter, drizzle a little sauce over the top, and serve the rest for dipping. Sprinkle with green onions or extra sesame seeds if you like!
