Soft and Chewy Creamsicle Orange Cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon orange zest (from about 1 large orange)
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white chocolate chips
1/4 cup heavy cream
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
Add egg, vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice, mixing until well combined
In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined
Fold in white chocolate chips gently
Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden but centers remain soft
Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack
Once cooled, lightly brush tops with heavy cream and let sit for 15 minutes to absorb
